DANGER, FAKE RACQUETS!

As an authorised dealer of the worlds biggest brands we feel quite frustrated with the amount of fake or counterfeit racquets we are seeing come into us for restrings. These are illegal copies of the real thing and to the average person can look the same. Most of the people that buy them say “I can'...

LOOK AFTER YOUR TENNIS RACQUET! I said to a staff member recently "Imagine how flat out we would be if every tennis player had a restring & re-grip when they are supposed to"? The point of this is that most customers don't get the most from their racquets, they allow the strings to age and loose elasticity risk injuring a wrist, elbow, bicep, shoulder etc. Players also leave replacing their grip or over grip way too late risking the racquet slipping out of their hand & crashing into the court & breaking instead replacing a grip for under $20. Leaving your strings in too long can have you in the physio for months at a huge cost compared to a $40 restring a couple of times a year.
The industry standards are as follows: every racquet needs stringing once a year regardless of how much use it has had. This is because strings can only hold their tension for so long and once stretched at that tension will eventually loose elasticity and your arm does all the work which is not safe and you risk injury. On top of this how ever many times you play per week that's roughly how many times a year you should get a restring. eg: If you use your racquet 2 times a week then get a restring every 6 months and so on. Never wait for your string to break, it's likely your arm will 1st. And never play with a warn grip or put tape on the end of the racquet to hold a grip on that has slipped off or is warn at the base. The bottom line is look after your equipement and you will get your moneys worth and much greater performance!
